Terms of Use for Submissions and Comments

The views expressed in these submissions and comments do not necessarily represent the views of the Task Force or the Government of Canada. The Task Force secretariat will be monitoring the input and may participate or intervene, as appropriate.

Visitors should also be aware that information contained in the submissions or comments is not subject the Official Languages Act and may not be accessible in the language of choice. Submissions and comments will be posted in the language in which they are received.

Off-topic submissions and comments will not be posted. (Note: Off-topic ideas and submissions include those that are not directly related to the stated topic, focus and/or questions.)

All submissions and comments will be moderated and reviewed by secretariat. Please keep in mind that the Task Force will not tolerate submissions and comments that are offensive to an individual or an organization, rude in tone, or abusive. We also reserve the right to edit or refuse submissions or comment that meet any of the following conditions:

  • contrary to the principles of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
  • racist, hateful, sexist, homophobic, slanderous, insulting, or life-threatening messages
  • serious, unproven or inaccurate accusations against individuals or organizations
  • aggressive, coarse, violent, obscene, or pornographic comments
  • messages where the sender is not the author
  • messages for advertising purposes
  • announcements from labour or political organizations
  • messages written in a language other than English or French
  • unintelligible or irrelevant messages, and
  • any other message that the forum moderators feel will not add to the normal flow of debate.

To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, do not include phone numbers, email addresses or other personal information in the body of your comments or posts.

Social Media Policy

The Canadian Task Force for the Payments System Review uses a variety of Social Media sites as part of its efforts to communicate clearly, quickly and in an interesting manner to Canadians.

If you follow us, you can expect regular broadcasts covering some or all of the following:

  • Press releases and updates;
  • Important consultation deadlines;
  • Social marketing campaign announcements.

We may also occasionally re-publish content from other users we think may be of interest to our followers.

Frequency of publishing

Followers can expect up to 3 publication of content a day on each platform. Be advised that there may be some periods where we have fewer postings than others or no postings at all.

Following/Subscribing/Like

At this time, the Canadian Task Force for the Payments System Review only follows other institutions and organizations which we believe are relevant to the mandate of our work.
The Canadian Task Force for the Payments System Review decision to follow a particular account does not imply endorsement of any kind.

Followers

Similarly, the appearance of a user as a follower/subscriber/friend of a Canadian Task Force for the Payments System Review account does not imply endorsement.
We will take steps to remove or block a follower if that follower does not abide by rules of engagement or the terms of service of any of the services used.

Availability

We aim to update and monitor our account during regular office hours between 8:00 A.M. – 5 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday to Friday. After business hours activities will be monitored the next business day.

We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers. All @Replies and Direct Messages (DMs)/comments will be read and any emerging themes or helpful suggestions will be passed to the relevant people in the Task force.
Although we are not able to reply individually to all the messages we receive, possible responses will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
We welcome your comments and expect that conversations will follow the rules of engagement. You are fully responsible for everything that you submit in your comments, and all posted comments are in the public domain.
